Gabriela Bortz is PhD in Social Sciences, School of Social Sciences (Universidad de Buenos Aires, Suma Cum Laude), Master of Science, Technology and Society (Universidad Nacional de Quilmes) and Political Science graduate (Universidad de Buenos Aires, Honour Diploma).

She is a researcher at the Area of Social Studies of Technology and Innovation of the Institute of Science and Technology Studies, Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (IESCT-UNQ). She is currently a CONICET postdoctoral fellow for Strategic Themes. She has also taken postgraduate courses in Argentina and abroad (State University of Campinas and University of Sussex).

Her research work, developed within the framework of the research program "Technologies for Inclusive and Sustainable Development. Public policies in Science, Technology, Inclusion and Social Development in Latin America ", focuses on the analysis of knowledge production and innovation in biotechnology ("biotechnologies for inclusive and sustainable development"), and public policies on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). She has participated in several research and extension projects funded by national and international institutions.

She is currently teaches at the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (postgraduate level) and is professor of the Seminar on Science and Technology Studies at the IES N°2 "Mariano Acosta". She also serves as a lecturer in courses at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry - Universidad Nacional de Rosario (undergraduate and postgraduate levels), Faculty of Social Sciences - Universidad de Buenos Aires and GTec Training Program (postgraduate). She also works as a communication advisor for the Network of Technologies for Argentine Social Inclusion (RedTISA) and content editor of the portal of the Argentine Network of Social Studies of Science and Technology (ESCYT Network).

Gabriela y also founder and Editor of Eä - Journal of Medical Humanities & Social Studies of Science and Technology (Eä Journal), open access publication focused on social studies and humanities of Health, Science and Technology.
